(Received July 1, at 12.40 p.m.) ‘Nine thousand brethren, including visitors from all parts of the Empire, enthusiastically' welcomed the King when His Majesty attended a special meeting of the United Grand Lodge of English Freemasons for investiture as Past Grand Master. It was the first time the King has been present at a Masonic meeting. After the investiture the King was, placed on the throne.
