GALLOPS AT AWAPUNI
[Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., Juno 29. With the going good and the flags close in there was a number of active workers at Awapuni this morning preparing for Saturday’s meeting. Taillight and Corrobqrree were associated over the mile in Imin 51sep, the last five furlongs being covered in Imin lOsec. Alby, who is engaged for Manawatu and Wellington, but who has 119 1 been raced since Easter, covered sis furlongs with Old Surrey in Imin 21sec. Quadroon headed Herangi at the end of five furlongs in Imin 7 2-ssec. Riotous and Forest Glow did the mile in Imin 57sec, Gay Boy and Master Limond taking Imin Slsec. Dawning Light ran six furlongs in Imin 26sec but was not going well at the finish and was found to be suffering from a recurrence of bleeding trouble. . . , Miss Pango and The Ranger joined Manawatu over the circuit, the latter finishing in front in Imin 57_ 3-ssec. Catalogue did a mile alone in Imin 5X 2-ssec. Thurwind covered the last three furlongs of a mile in 40sec, while Lady Ina did six furlongs in Imin 24seo. Hunting Maid, Sporting Song, and Te Huia worked on the plough. Hunting Maid is unlikely to fulfil her engagement at Manawatu.
