THREAT OF GAOL
SLY GROG AT ASHBURTON [Pbr United Press Association.] ASHBURTON, June 23. In the Police Court to-day Edwar<| O’Connor, who was charged with sly grog-selling, was fined £lO. The magistrate (Mr H. Morgan, S.M.) issued a warning that, in view of the number of cases that had come before him in the last few months, the penalty in future would be gaol without the option of a fine. Several men found on the premises; were each fined 10s, with costs.
