BRUSHING THE HAIR
Brush the hair with a brush, the bristles of which penetrate clear through to the scalp. The scalp is stimulated with vigorous brushing. And brush in the new and approved way. Don’t brush the hair flat down on the scalp to the hair end, instead, divide the hair into strands. While ilio left hand holds a lock of hair a few inches above its free end, the right . naud sweeps the brush downward, from just below the left hand. When the free hand thus is smoothed out, the left hand grasps the tresses a few inches higher up, and this fresh part is brushed downward, and so on. The hair may be brushed at an angle, so that the stroke draws that hair up and away from the scalp, causing a stimulating glow. This is the best way of brushing your hair. Grey -hair may be a grand and gorgeous asset if properly groomed. ! Woe to the woman who lias untidy grey hair! Tho_ best plan for a greyhaired woman, in my humble opinion, is to have her grey hair cut as short as possible. Wisps and odds and ends hanging about the face and neck are disastrous, and more especially very ageing. Grey hair must be tidy, it must be very neat. You have to work a little harder with brush and scalp massage, perhaps, than do other women. You have to be absolutely regular about your bair-dressing appointments. The smarter you dress your grey hair, the more outstanding it becomes, and the smarter and younger the general appearance. Sacrifice other things rather than be slack on hair-dressing expense. With make-up and dress colours as accessory aids, there’s no reason why every grey and white-haired woman can’t stand out and apart from her fellow women in any gathering.
