WOMEN TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION

On Wednesday evening last, the monthly meeting of the Women Teachers’ Association was held in the club room, Moray Place. It was unfortunate that there was such a poor attendance, but those present spent a most enjoyable evening. The president, Miss Whitehead, occupied the chair. The speaker for the evening was Miss Vera Hayward, who was a delegate to the annual conference of the New Zealand Women Teachers’ Association held in Wellington in May last. Miss Hayward presented a report of the work carried out at the conference and explained most clearly each section of the business as it appeared in the report. At the conclusion of the business section of the meeting a most entertaining and amusing play was presented, the following ladies taking part:— Misses Whitehead, Woodhouse, Allen, Sutherland, Lyndall, and Morris. A happy social half-hour concluded the meeting.
