TAIERI POULTRY SOCIETY
COMMITTEE MEETING There was a good attendance at the monthly committee meeting of the Taieri Poultry Society. Mr John Williamson presided. All the business was in connection with the annual show to he held in a fortnight’s time. Mr ;S. Waldie was appointed to supervise the erection and dismantling of pons, and to engage the necessary labour. The secretary was instructed to procure catalogues on the same terms and Conditions as last year. The closing of entries was extended till Juno 26. It was decided that the whole of the entry money in the produce and children’s pets section be allocated in prizes. The following officials were appointed for the show;—Attending judges—Messrs D. Ashley, R. Aitken, and J. Friend; produce and honey, Mr J. Friend; erecting pens, Mr S. Waldie; penning lambs—Messrs G. Smeaton, J. Hind, and D. Ashley; feeding birds Mr A. Walker; refreshments, Messrs A. Walker and J. Williamson; pig and sheep guessing, Messrs S. Waldie and G. Smeaton; overseer, Mr J. Williamson; ticket box, Mr J. Williamson, jun., and Miss J. Hendry; doorkeepers—Messrs R. Aitken, A. Murdoch, and G. Grant; writing names on prize cards, Mr W. H. Townrow.
