SATURDAY NIGHT'S WRESTLING
Two of the best wrestlers ever brought to New Zealand will meet in a heavyweight bout to be staged at the Town Hall on Saturday night. They are Sammy Stein, who has held the Jewish title for the past seven years, and John Spellman, winner of a title at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924. Both of these men have appeared in Dunedin this season, and from their previous performances this contest should provide wrestling of the highest order. Stein will take into the ring with him speed, “ colour,” efficiency, and versatility, but will meet a dour opponent, tough physically, and with all the moves of the game at his fingertips. Spellman has shown the Dunedin public that he can deliver a powerful elbow jolt, as well as launch a devastating flying tackle. He has capably handled the opposition be has encountered so far, but will be up against stiff opposition when he meets Stein. The latter’s visit to the Dominion has produced everything that it promised. Further particulars are advertised.
