In the village of . St.- Hilaire-sur-Helpe, near Maubeuge, France, every house is equipped with electric light, electric cooking stoves, heating, and other contrivances. The housewife puts in a plug, and her, coffee is ground or a washing-machine feet in motion. This electric village, is one of many experiments being carried out in modern France. The village has 300 inhabitants, who can hardly believe their good fortune.
