JUDGE'S COMMENT OH ACQUITTAL
"DIDN'T KNOW YOUR RECORD" [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON. May 3. The theft of a roll of blue serge, valued at £32 9s, belonging to the National Woollen Mills, at Wanganui, was alleged against Arthur Harold‘Anderson, a waterside worker, aged 45, in the Supreme Court to-day. The material was part of a consignment to be taken from the Fordsdale at the Kmg> wharf on January 23 to Wanganui. Alternatively, the prisoner was charged with receiving stolen goods. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts. “ The jury didn’t know your record as well as I did,” said Mr Justice Ostler, discharging the prisoner.
