LONDON BUSMEN TO STRIKE. A strike of 26,000 Central London omnibus men is to begin at midnight, involving an interruption of about 200 routes. The men’s delegates met to-day and heard a detailed report of the negotiations on their claim for a seven and a-half hours’ day in view of the recent speeding up of time schedules. They subsequently confirmed the decision to cease work. The Transport Board maintains that the claim is not substantiated, and while ready to accept a public inquiry, declares that the finance of the board is unable, to meet it.—Wireless cablegram.
