CONCERT AT OROKONUI HOME

The United Congregational Choir, under the direction of Mr W. R. Sinclair, delighted the patients at Orokonui Home, Waitati, with a variety concert presented on Wednesday evening. Besides some very fine rendered by the choir, the following items ■were contributed;—Songs by Mr G. Dyer, Misses May Dryden, and Mavis Johnston; duets by Mrs L. J. Smith and Miss Joan Smith, and Misses M. Johnston and M. Dryden; recitations by Misses Winnie Dyer, and Doreen Caldwell; guitar solos by Mr L. J. Smith; accordion solos by Mr R. Smith; dances, Miss Mabel Maddon; humorous sketches by Mr W. R. Sinclair.

The community singing which was, introduced throughout the programme was entered into heartily by the patients, and concluded with ‘ Auld Lang Syne.’ Accompanists were Mr Ron Abernethy, Mrs L. J. Smith, and Miss Winnie Dyer. Dr Marshall, on behalf of the patients and staff, thanked the performers.
