WINTER SPORTS

ALLOCATION OF GROUNDS The Reserves Committee of the City Council reports that applications for the use of various portions of the city recreation reserves for winter games have now been dealt with, and the undermentioned areas have been allotted: —Otago Rugby Football Union, _ls grounds; Otago Football Association, 13 grounds; Otago Women’s Hockey Association, 8 grounds. The, applications have been granted subject to the usual conditions that the applicants pay a charge of £7 10s & ground a season, plus £l a ground for making lines and erecting posts. In addition, a charge of £3 each is made for the use of rooms in the Oval pavilion and the Logan Park pavilion. In the case of the Women’s Hockey Association the charge has again been reduced for the current season to a flat rate of £ls 10s for the use of the grounds,.including the old pavilion at the Oval and the marking of grounds and erecting, of posts.
