TOUR OF OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND [Special to the ‘ Stab.’] ■ WELLINGTON, April' 22. A tour of Otago and Southland i* to be made by the Hon. 1?. Langstone, Minister of Lands, who leaves here on Friday and will reach Gore in time to receive deputations on Saturday evening. On Monday the Minister, proposes to inspect the land settlement block at Lora Gorge, Forest Hill district, and will proceed to Wmton,Otautau, and Riverton; On the following day sawmillmg operations in the Pourakino VaUey_will be inspected in the morning, in© Mmister visiting the Colac Bay JNative settlement in the afternoon, then proceeding to Invercargill and receiving deputations in the evening. On Wednesday morning there will be a visit to Bluff, and next day Mr Langstone will leave Invercargill for the Gatlins district, attending a func-, tion at Pounawea in connection with the newly-established scenic reserve, which has been purchased largely through local residents’ efforts. The Minister will be at Gore in the evening, and intends receiving deputations., while on the following morning he will be in Milton, and in the afternoon mtends visiting the small farms settle* ment on the Otago Peninsula, receiving a deputation in Dunedin at night.The Minister intends to visit Waikouaiti on Saturday, May 1, before catching the express l° r the north.
