CONCERT AT TALBOYS HOME
The monthly concert by the South Dunedin Labour Party was held on Wednesday, when a most enjoyable concert was given by Begg’s Orchestra, under the' baton of Mr J, F. Hamburg. The programme was as follows: —Selection, Begg’s Orchestra; song,_ with orchestra, Miss D. Darracot; violin:solo, Mr W. Johngon; selection, the orchestra; song, Mrs C. Searle; character song, Mr P. White -selection, the orchestra ; song,. : Miss D.- Darracot; song, Mrs G. Searle: selection, orchestra. The pianist was Miss A. Duggan. At the close of the orchestra’s concert,. Mr Steven thanked Mr Himburg and members of the orchestra for their performance. Mr A. Steel thanked them on behalf of the inmates and the Hospital Board. Mr Himburg suitably replied. Later the following artists carried on with other items: —Messrs King and Easdon (musical selections), Mr W. Black (accordion solo). Miss Daphne Allen’s pupils gave Scotch sword dance, Highland fling, and Irish jigs. Master George Fluery a recitation, Mrs and Master Webster and Mr and Mrs Smith songs. Mesclamcs Ruth, Nash, and Stevens distributed sweets to the inmates.
