VAUXHALL CUP Previously confined to club members, the Vauxhall Cup race for all classes of yachts is now, after about six years of competition, to be thrown
open for competition by all-comers. The race for the trophy will be held next Sunday, and an invitation is extended to all yachtsmen to enter by the Vauxhall Boating Club. The race will commence about 3, and an event for motor boats is to be held about 3.15, and entries will be -welcomed for this also. The yachts will sail under sealed handicaps, and a cash prize is offered beside the cup, while the motor boats will start under the Mark Foy system. OLIPKANT CUP The North-east Harbour (Boating Club will hold a series of races on Saturday, commencing with an all-comers’ race at 3. The Oliphant Cup race, for 14footers, will be the main event on the programme, and an all-comers’ launch race will commence at 3.30.
