OCEAN BEACH CRICKET CLUB

Tho annual smoke social of the Ocean 'Beach Cricket Club brought its activities for the 1936-37 season to a close on Saturday evening last. The president, Mr Clem Beck, occupied the chair and presided over an attendance of 40 members and supporters. After the “ Loyal Toast,” Mr Beck spoke of the club’s performances for the past season, and complimented tho team on its fine record, which comprised 19 matches played, 11 won, 4 drawn, and 4 lost. Mr Bede's remarks were responded to by Mr V. Uoldcrness (captain) and Mr A. Hoivlcy (vice-captain). A lengthy toast list interspersed with musical and humorous items entertained members during the evening, items being rendered by Messrs JViseman,

Kershaw, M'Comhic, Oaten, Whitty, Brown, and Ron Watson. The Savonia Dance Band also enlivened proceedings with numerous items both vocal and musical.
