EXCITEMENT IN VIENNA

MONEY SHOWERED IN STREET ENGLISHMEN'S ESCAPADE DISORGANISES TRAFFIC Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright VIENNA, April 20. (Received April 21, at 10 a.m.) The civic authorities are incensed by the escapade of two Englishmen who disorganised the traffic in the fashionable quarter by showering sixpences and half-crowns from the balcony of an hotel, from which came laughter and the mutter of English voices. The street was soon blocked by a thousand quarrelling and fighting Viennese. The jesters were astonished that the Viennese were excited about such small coins. The newspaper, ‘ Weltblatt,’ comments: “No doubt the same thing would happen if anybody dropped money in the heart of London. We believe that large crowds of Scotsmen would go directly to London if they heard of the chance of picking up sixpences in the street.”
