Flour, 1-lb, lean steak, 2 onions (sliced), i-lb, tomatoes (peeled and sliced), 2ozs . dripping . 2 pints cold water, pepper and salt. Cut the meat up neatly and fry lightly in smoking-hot dripping. Lift on to a plate. Fry : the onions, add Corn Flour and brown. Pour in the water, stir until boiling, season. Add meat and tomatoes, simmer about 13 hours, and serve with mashed potatoes.
