4.000 TONS ON SATURDAY LATE HARVEST CAUSES LOCAL SHORTAGE [Per United Press Association.] ' CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. Four thousand tons of Australian wkeaL is cluo to £irriv*6 Auckland on Saturday by the Kekerangu. llepresonting about 150,000 bushels, the shipment will be disposed of amongst Auck-* land millers. This announcement was made by Mr L. J. Schmitt, deputy-chairman of the Wheat Committee. He said representatives of the New Zealand flour millers had waited on the Wheat Committee and stressed their claims for the early importation of Australian milling wheat for their use. “ In view of the fact that New Zealand milling wheat for shipment to theNorth Island was being delayed by the late harvest and adverse weather, the request of the millers was acceded to,” said Mr, Schmitt.
