DAMAGED CRUISER

As a result of the damage to her pro- / Eellers the Australian cruiser Sydney; ad to leave Auckland this morning on her return to Sydney. A new propeller will have to be fitted and the tad shaft of another propeller straightenedAs this can be done with a minimum of inconvenience at. Sydney, it was decided that it was advisable that the cruiser should go there. , The force of the collision was such that two blades on the cruiser’s outer port propeller were broken off. At the same time the Sydney was rammed heavily against the piles of the wharf, and her outer starboard propeller tail shaft was badly bent. ' As only two of her four propellers will b© working, the Sydney will have to' travel at reduced speed.
