IMPERIAL COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURE. The creation of an Imperial Council of Agriculture was strongly urged by Sir Herbert Matthews, a prominent British agriculturist, who arrived by the Aorangi to-day. Ho said that with such a council set up a great many of the difficulties at present exjsting could be removed. There was no reason why the farmers of New Zealand should lie in competition with the farmers of Britain. New Zealand could produce the world’s finest butter. England had the advantage over New Zealand in the quality of its beef, hut New Zealand lamb could command a world market. He would like to see each British Dominion using what it was best suited for. He was strongly , opposed -to any British country sending its best stud stock to foreign countries.—Auckland Press Association. YOUNG STOWAWAY—GOOD TIME ON AORANGI.
