Mr Mander said he felt he had performed a public duty by drawing attention to tho position. He would ask the Minister to answer two questions—first, did the departmental officers report on the efficiency of business methods and the management of particular businesses and industries; secondly, were such reports disclosed to the Inns reported upon? Would the Minister answer a plain Yes or No? AGAINST BUREAUCRATIC CONTROL. “Like Mr Henry, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, I have no desire to become involved in the controversy started by Mr Mander’s recent Press statement,” said Mr H.
