4. r INCREASE OF £12,000 [Pat Uniter Press Association.] WANG AN (11. April 10; “ Easter travel by rail this year lias shown a great improvement upon the figures for Easter last year, both in numbers and in revenue,” stated the Minister of Railways (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan! here to-day. “In 193(5 there were 5140,000 passengers carried at Easter time,” added Mr Sullivan. ‘‘This year the number amounted to 395,000, an increase of 55,000, or 14 per cent. The Easter traffic revenue increased by £12,000, an improvement of 18 per cent, upon the Easter revenue for 1936. “ As there has been no alteration in the scale of passenger fees,” continued the Minister, “ the percentages of increase indicate that travellers by rail were going further afield this year than they did in 1936. This may be regarded as a further sign of tlm improved economic position of the people.” ,
