ADVERTISING AND BUSINESS SOCIETY

Mr A. Warren occupied the chair nt the weekly meeting of the Dunedin Young Men’s Advertising and Business Society held in the Chamber of Commerce rooms on Thursday night. The business of the society was rpiickly dealt with, and the chairman welcomed Mr Frude, the speaker for the evening.

As Mr Frude explained in his opening remarks, the talk was not of a business nature, but provided a change from the usual type of business lecture. It was based, on proclamations issued in Belgium by the German army during the first two years of the World War. Mr Frude displayed _ a booklet called ‘ Scraps of Paper/ which he personally brought with nim from the Great War. In this booklet were photographs of the authentic proclamations issued in Belgium. Members gained much knowledge from these facts, as lectures of this type are not always available.
