MOSGIEL MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION

HCOERATOR OF ASSEMBLY'S VISIT The Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly (tho Rev. T. H. Roseveare) addressed the Mosgiei Minister’s Association at the annual meeting held in the East Taieri Manse. The Rev. N. Challenger (retiring president) extended a welcome to the distinguished visitor. Mr Roseveare spoke of the privileges and responsibilities of the Ministry. He carried his hearers in thought back to the days of the Apostles, It was a good tiling, he said, to remember that in the days of the early Christian Church organisation was quite a secondary matter. The essential thing was whole-hearted devotion to the Christian Church. The church today was faced with grave problems, but the old-fashioned methods were still effective. The faithful proclamation of the Word of God was still needed, likewise pastoral visitation. Speeches of appreciation were made by_ the Rev. D. N. Mackenzie (West Taieri) and the Rev. S. C. Francis, on behalf of the Presbytery. The Rev. W. W. Ewart was elected president for tho ensuing year, and the Rev, Hugh Graham secretary. The president was asked to represent the association at the forthcoming dia. mond jubilee of the Mosgicl Presbyterian Church.
