Mary Wyatt, wife of a fireman, entered the office of the city manager (Mr M'Elroy) to protest against a 50 per cent, reduction in firemen’s salaries. He refused to listen, and she slashed his face with a horsewhip. Employees seized and ejected her. Mr M‘Elroy is the father of Mary M‘Elroy, who was kidnapped in May, 1933.
