SUCCESSFUL SELLING METHODS The immense sura of 9,500,000 dollars (equivalent to approximately £2,400,000) was appropriated by the Chicago firm of Sears, Roebuck, and Co. for newspaper advertising in 1936. Announcing the decision, the advertising manager said: ** Newspapers have proven to be by far our best and most effective medium for retail sales promotion.”—* Otago Daily Times.’
