INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE'S SITTINGS 1 The district officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Dunedin* - advises that the Sea Fisheries Investigation Committee will commence to ~ take evidence at Dunedin on April 18. In accordance with the terms of lt» i order of reference, the committee is empowered to conduct investigations into all matters affecting' the - welfare and development of the sea fishing industry, and matters affecting both the local and export trade will naturally be given close consideration. 1 The scientific evaluation and conser* 1 vation of supplies will also come before the- notice, of the committee. - As an outcome of the committee’* ‘ findings and recommendations, it »■ i anticipated that some scheme may be ; formulated under the Industrial Effi- ■ ciency Act to co-ordinate the varjoufc ~ t units' of the industry upon a more effi- ! cient basis than has been the. case in-. c the past. The committee comprises Mr J. Thorn, M.P. (chairman), Mr M. \V. ~ Young, Assistant Cliief. Inspector of ) Fisheries, and Mr E. Sheed, of the tie- i partment of Industries and Commerce.,
