THE SALVATION ARMY

DIVISIONAL CONGRESS This year Lieutenant-commissioner and Mrs F. Adams, territorial leaders in command of the Salvation Army forces, will conduct divisional congress gatherings in the four centres of New Zealand. Commencing to-night at 8 o’clock in the Dowling Street Fortress, a welcome to delegates will be open to the public. The congress will be continued until Tuesday next. The commissioner will be supported by the chief secretary and Mr George Grattan, departmental officers of territorial headquarters, the divisional staff, and 90 field and social officers attached to the Army forces in Dunedin and the Otago province. Special features of these gatherings will bo the Congress Songsters, the leader being Brother William Baylis, who will be supported by the Dunedin City Band, conducted by Mr A. Millard. This week is also the fifty-fourth anniversary _ of the commencement of the Salvation Army in Dunedin and New Zealand.
