I wonder what they’d say If I jumped in to play?” But soon he quacked so hard, He woke the whole farmyard. “I said,” cried Mrs Hen, A-sobbing in the pen “In water do not go; I never do, you know. ” Come here, my chicks, and see What a dreadful boy is he; A lesson learn this day, In water not to play! ” Cried Duckie from the brink: “ Of course! But, then, you’d sink! ” Then hopped he round about. And shook his feathers out. “Oh, wouldn’t I be sick If I were just a chick! Bor now the whole long day In water I shall play! ’ ’
