•HIAWATHA’S WEDDING FEAST*

Monday. Coleridge-Taylor’s ‘ Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast ’ is to be performed by the Royal Choral Society, conducted by Dr Malcolm Sargent, and following this recorded feature there will be at 9.5 a radio play, ‘ The Game,’ .written by Philip Wade and played by the Academy Players. Tuesday ‘Professor R. Lawson gives the second of the new series of talks on the topic of ‘This Changing World,’ his subject being ‘The Great Poets.’ This will be delivered at 7.30. The first 40 minutes of the concert session will he made up of selected recordings. George Wycherley will then speak on ‘The Lighter Side of Cricket.’ The programme from 9 o’clock will include numbers by the 8.8. C. Military Band, while Margaret Howden will be the soprano vocalist. Wednesday.—Variety items are scheduled to be played from 8 o’clock, and the second of the talks by a Dunedin barrister on ‘Trials in Tabloid,.’ is to bo heard at 8.40. A St. Patrick’s Day programme will bo played afterwards. Thursday.—Special recordings will bo used to make up the greater portion of the concert, which will include items by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with Peter Dawson (bass-baritone), Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies (soprano), and Fritz Kreisler (violinist) as soloists. Priday.—-Recorded features, including the Japanese houseboy, ‘ The Easy Chair.’ and ‘ The ■ Kingsmen.’ will be played, and during the chamber music hour which follows at 9.5 the Max Scherek Trio will be heard. Saturday.-—The • Concert Orchestra, under the direction of James Dixon, Lex Macdonald (baritone), and Dora Drake (soprano) will be tbo local contributors to the popular programme.
