AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (OTAGO).
TO THS EDITOR. Sir,—The letter of “Disgusted” on the Automobile Association (Otago) seems to be out of order. The A.A. expresses its opinion many times on things I don’t agree with, but I was not at the meeting and will wait until the proper time to criticise. I would like, however, to see “ Disgusted ” pay his £1 to the A.A- (Otago) and go to the meetings to air his views, where, I have no doubt, he would be listened to with respect. The automobile associations are formed to attend to matters to improve conditions for motorists, but to notice the number Of cars about Dunedin that do not carry the sign of membership shows they are in the same class as the late Mr Will Brooks alluded to when he said, “ A man-who will join in the benefits Of a trades union, but will not pay his share, is as bad as a man who would steal flowers off a dead man’s grave.” —I am, etc.. Member A.A. (Otago). March 11.
