YACHTING

OTAGO CLUB RACE A good number of entries was received for the race held by the Otago Yacht Club over the week-end, Miti winning from scratch, with Val (Bmiu) second, and Evelyn (lOmin) third. Miti, Shadow, Lynette, Eileen, and Val went away to a good start, with the others a little astern. Miti rounded the weather mark first, followed by Shadow, Eileen, Lynette, and Evelyn, the others rounding with seconds separating them. On the run to the leeward mark the only change was that Lynette outpaced the other small craft. On the beat to windward Miti still led from Shadow, but Val, which was being sailed well by her youthful skipper, 1. M'Lean, and his crew, outpaced Evelyn and Lynette to take third place, closely followed by Eileen, Evelyn, and Lynette. On the short run home there was no alteration in the position of the fleet, fhe placings being as follow: Miti, ser 1 Val (Bmin) 2 Evelyn (lOmin) 3 Also started: Shadow, Eileen, Betty, Lynette. Winifred, R.N.V.R., Rada, Oakie, Red Peril, and Starlight.
