RIFLE SHOOTING

DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB Tho Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot ihc first stage of a. competition counting fm the club's championship, Murray trophy, and Miller Cup Handicap on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 23, and seven shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 300 and 600 yards. Weather conditions were fine, with a bright light and variable breeze, which made high scoring difficult. The best score at 300yds was 34 made by A. W. Cooper; at 6Coyds G. N. Smith was top with 34. The day’s aggregate was headed by A. W. Cooper with 65. Following are the highest scores:
