MADAME ZELAHDA RETURNS Mondav. —In the evening programme between 8 and 9 Madame Marghenta Zelanda, who has been visiting the northern stations under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service, will be heard in the first of a short series of soprano recitals. At 9.23 a play, It Happened in Port Said,’ is to be presented. Tuesday.—Special items in recorded form are scheduled for presentation during the first hour of the concert session, followed by music played by the Ifaikorai Band. The vocal interludes will be supplied by Dorothy Barren (soprano). Wednesday.—Recorded features will be played as usual, and, commencing at 9.5, there will be a Continental light opera programme. Thursday.—The New York Philharmonic -Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of the veteran conductor, Arturo Toscanini, will be featured in recorded wanks, and Madame Zelanda will make her second studio appearance. Friday.—As the fifth cricket test between England and Australia commences relays of ball-for-ball descriptions of the play will be carried out at intervals during the afternoon and early evening programmes, with a resume and summary of the day’s play, as usual, later. The concert session will open with variety recordings, while during the chamber music programme the Max Scherek Trio will play ‘ Ino in E Flat ’ (Schubert). Saturday.—Cricket broadcasts will take place as on the previous day. Madame Zelanda is to give the final recital of her tour, and taking part in the same programme will be the 4YA Concert Orchestra and the Regal Four (vocalists). From 9.15 an old-time dance programme will be presented.
