OUTRAGE ON FARM
GIRL OF FOURTEEN THE VICTIM [Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N„ February 19. A case involving a shocking outrage on a girl of 14 years was heard at Pahiatua yesterday before Justices of the Peace, when a single man, aged 35, pleaded guilty to' unlawful carnal knowledge at a farm near Pahiatua. The accused, Keith Ambrose Carroll, bad been found employment by the Placement Officer on the farm in question. It was shown in evidence that the accused carried on lovemaking with a girl visitor to the farm, unknown to the latter’s relatives, who employed the accused. The accused visited the girl’s bedroom on the night of February 10, committing the offence with which he was charged. The following night the accused again visited the girl’s room. Hardly had he entered the room when a relative of the girl came in, making the discovery, which resulted in a call for the intervention of the police. The accused was committed for sentence to Wellington.
