THYROID GLAND MARVELS • ■> NECESSITY FOR CORRECT FUNCTIONING. The marvels of the Thyroid gland mere described by a well-known Christchurch doctor in an address to the Christchurch branch of the Royal Sanitary Institute. In early life, he said, the Thyroid controlled growth, and in later life played an important part in many bodily functions. Children deprived of the iodine on which the Thyroid's operation depended developed into cretins, or dwarfs, and remained dwarfs mentally and physically to their deaths. In later life disturbance of the Thyroid caused enormnus obesity, the sufferer greatly increasing in weight, and becoming dull mentally and physically. By correcting the iodine deficiency the sufferers became normal again. Mental or physical shocks were put right by the Thyroid gland, and it was the Thyroid that caused the fever which helped patients overcome such an illness as pneumonia. Without the proper operation of the Thyroid the sufferer would be completely without emotion. To keep the Thyroid gland active it requires regular rationing with organic iodine, and this is achieved with the aid of Thyrodone, the concentrated oyster extract. The excellent physo-chemical combination of life-essential minerals with organic iodine obtainable in Thyrodon*' is widely endorsed by medical men as the finest corrective of glandular troubles. Thyrodone is obtainable at 4s 6d from chemists. If unable’to obtain supplies, write to Thyrodone Development Ltd., P.O. Box 258, Invercargill.-.-[Advt.]
