WEDDINGS

RUSTON—JENKINS. St. Peter’s Church, Cargill road, was the scene of a pretty wedding on the evening of January 27, when Doris Jean, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. S. Jenkins, Richardson street, was married to Trevor William, cider son of Mr and Mrs W. B. Ruston, Glen road. The Rev. J. Morland officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a flared gown of soft ivery satin, with large pleated sleeves, a cowl neckline caught at the shoulder with a spray of orange blossom and finished at the back with pleated bolt and row of small satin buttons. Her veil of silk embroidered net was held in place by a coronet of pearl orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses, lilies, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids— Misses Joyce Seddon and Gertrude Adam —who wore dressed alike in pale pink floral flared gowns with pleated sleeves, rolled collars finished at the back with rows of small brown velvet

buttons, brown velvet sashes, and velvet shoes to tone. They wore brown crinoline picture bats, and carried shower bouquets of pink roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. A. Rlisten as best man, and byMr T. H. dory as groomsman._ A reception was held at the Masonic Hall, Cargill road, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a black floral ensemble with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of antumntinted roses. She was assisted by Airs Rnston (mother of the bridegroom), who wore a marina blue ensemble, with hat to match. Her bouquet was of red roses. After the wedding breakfast an enjoyable dance was held. Among the guests were Airs M. Jenkins (Tapanui), grandmother of the bride, and Airs F. Huston, grandmother of + lie bridegroom. Later in the evening the bridal couple left by car, Airs Rnston wearing a navy tailorod_ costume, smart navy bat and accessories to tone, with a dark brown skunk stole. Prior to her wedding, the bride was the guest of honour at numerous parties, among the hostesses being Mesilamcs Alurray, A. Jenkins, R. Strong, and Aliss Joyce Scddon.
