(Received February 19, at 8 a.m.) Mr John Brownlee, making his debut in ‘ Rigoletto,’ was warmly received by a large audience. The ‘ New York Times ’ says it was a pleasure to recognise that as soon as Mr Brownlee appeared the singer had not only tho routine part well in hand, but also consistently and proportionately developed) his conception of the character, which was reinforced with a voice of go.od quality. His style was that of a musician.
