INTOXICATED MOTORISTS
IMPRISONMENT FOR ONE OFFENDER [Per United Press Association.] HASTINGS, February 17. A sentence of three weeks’ imprisonment was imposed on Phillip Neil Partridge, aged 30, when he was charged in the Hastings court to-day with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle. The accused was also disqualified from holding a license for the next two years. Partridge had two previous convictions for the same offence. A THIRD OFFENCE. FOXTON. February 17. Frederick Waller, farmer, of Himitangi, a third offender, was convicted and taining a driving license for three years for driving a motor car while in a state of intoxication. The magistrate (Mr Salmon) was on the Pencil. Waller was warned by a constable not to drive the car, but ignored the warning. On a charge of driving without a license he was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
