SHAREBROKER’S THEFTS
SENTENCE OF EIGHTEEN MONTHS [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, February 16. The case for the defence was put before the jury when the trial of William Wallace M'Clelland, sharebroker, on 14 theft charges was continued this morning before Mr Justice Nojthcroft, the charges arising out of share dealings that involved an amount exceeding £2,620. . After a retirement of 40 minutes a verdict of guilty was returned, and M'Clelland was sentenced to 18 months, to be served concurrently With the term he is already serving.
