GLEAN TEETH

ROW TO ENSURE THEM Dr Alexander MacGregor, of the research department, Royal Dental Hospital, speaking at the Winter School for Health Visitors and School Nurses, in London recently, said; “ What we have to do is to make the nation teeth-conscions, and I am glad to say we are doing this more and more. “There are many people who would be ashamed and indignant if you suggested that they did not wash their faces, yet these same people have filthy teeth ’in their mouths.” Dr MacGregor explained that, improperly used, the tooth_ brush could be just as dangerous as it was useful when properly used, reports the ‘Daily Telegraph.’ “ The tooth brush can he an excellent thing. The brush should not he moved vigorously across the teeth, as is so often the case, but upwards and downwards from the gums, so as to remove food lodged between the teeth. “ The most efficient of all cleansers for the teeth is a fibrous type of food. For instance, to eat an apple or an orange after every meal would be an ideal way of keeping the teeth clean.” Dr MacGregor advised regular visits to the dentist; adding, “In these days no dental surgeon is worth his salt at all who hurts his patient.”
