4YA FEATURES NEXT WEEK

CONTINENTAL MUSIC ON WEDNESDAY Monday.—Local artists to contribute to portion ot the concert programme will be Rees M'Conachy (violinist) and Dorothy Stentiford (contralto), who will sing modern English songs. After 9 o’clock the Dunedin Players will enact ‘ The Bridge Was Crossed,’ a play by Harry Pauli. Tuesday.—Recorded items, including a programme by the Band of the Republicane Garde, will comprise the greater .part of the evening session. Angela Hendry (contralto) will be the featured vocalist. Wednesday. Following the usual recorded features, the 4Y A Concert Orchestra, under the direction of Gil Dech, will play a programme of Continental music, relieved by vocal numbers. Thursday.—Classical and symphonic works to be presented during the concert programme will be by the following contemporary composers;—Sibelius, Richard Strauss, Schonberg, Kilpin, and Ravel. Friday.—After the recorded variety programme there will be the usual chamber, music recital, the featured items being piano and flute duets and string quartets. Saturday.—Most of the concert programme will be supplied by the Concert Orchestra, Margaret Green (contralto), and C. R. Williamson (tenor).
