CORONATION WEEK
KING TO BROADCAST MESSAGE SPECIAL PROGRAMMES BY 8.8. C. (Britisfi Official Wireless.) Association —By' Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, February 10. Arrangements are being made by the British Broadcasting Corporation for special programmes during the whole of Coronation week. The King will broadcast a message to the Empire on forenation Day at the conclusion of a programme entitled ‘ The Empire’s Homage,’ which will be on, the lines of the Christmas relays from different parts of the Empire. It is hoped, by means of special equipment, certain parts of the procession will be televised. VISITORS FROM OVERSEA LONDON, February 10. ..Two hundred thousand guests are expected for the Coronation from overseas, comprising 5,070 New Zealanders, 20,000 Australians, 7,000 South Africans, 20,000 Canadians, 11,000 from India, 23,000 from the United States, and 100,000 from the Continent, without accounting for wealthy Argentinians and others, including Asiatics. Each visitor is expected to spend £l5O during the four months’ stay, totalling at least £15,000,000.
