SETTLEMENT ARRANGED
IN FAVOUR OF PLAINTIFF SEQUEL TO MOTOR COLLISION [Pea United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 11. Before the evidence for the defendant had been completed a settlement was announced in the Supreme Court of the case in which Muriel Jessie Bollard claimed from James Healy, a Civil servant, the sum of £1,750 damages for injuries received when the cars which the plaintiff and the defendant were driving came into collision near Paraparaumu on October 23. . ‘ . Upon tbe application of Mr 0. C. Mazengarb, for the plaintiff, and with the consent of Mr. J. G. Stephenson, who appeared with Mr O’Leary, K.C., for the defendant, Mr Justice Smith entered judgment for the plaintiff for £624 6s 4d, being £450 genera] damages, and £174 6s 6d, the amount of special damages claimed. Mr Mazengarb said that tbe defendant acted the part of a gentleman at the scene of the accident, and through his solicitors he now agreed to a settlement, which, in view of the excellent recovery of the plaintiff,' she was willing to accept.
