OBITUARY

MRS F. E. KELLY Folowing a brief illness, the death took place at Invercargill on Saturday last of a highly respected Mrs Fora Ellen Kelly, at the age of 73 years. Mrs Kelly was the daughter of the late,Mr Thomas Hatten, and was the first white child born at Nokomai. When only an infant she went with her parents to Queenstown, where she remained for 50 years. Later, with her husband and family, she removed to Invercargill, where she was a popular member of St. Mary’s congregation, and) an ardent worker it. all things connected with the church and in the cause of charity. Mrs Kelly is survived by her husband, Mr James Patrick Kelly, one son, and four daughters. The funeral took place at the Eastern Cemetery on Monday morning, the Right Rev. He had a varied career as a dentist’s assistant, a saddler’s apprentice, a bush missioner, a city missioner, an army chaplain, a traveller, a lecturer, and an author, in that order.
