EXCELLENT CONDITIONS

STATE OF BEACHES Ideal conditions prevailed this week for devotees of the surf, and the beaches should be in good order for week-end bathers. The surf at St. Kilda is the best this season, the beach is in firstclass order, and the water warm. At St. Clair the beach, itself is good, but there is a rather deep channel fairly close to the shore, and one or two holes in front of the pavilion. Bathers are urged to keep between the flags, indicating the best part of the beach in which to bathe. The Tomahawk Beach is in particularly good order at present, the sea is moderate, and the water mild.
