CONVICTED OF THEFT

MAH REMANDED IN GUSTDDY The hearing of the charge against Harold Walter Larkins of the theft of motor accessories, valued at £2 2s, the property of Wiri Taiaroa, of Otakou, was continued by Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday afternoon. Accused, who was represented by Mr G. T. Baylee, gave evidence that some spanners, alleged to have been stolen, had been given to him by his brother-in-law. Other articles which were alleged to have been stolen from Taiaroa had come from various other sources, and a horn, which Taiaroa also claimed, had been on the car when he bought it. After hearing' evidence, the Magistrate said that he had no reasonable doubt that the accused had stolen the motor horn, the spanners, and the length of copper piping. He would be convicted of the theft of those articles. The accused was remanded in custody until Monday, pending a report by the probation officer.
