CAUGHT ON GRAFTON PARAPET

ANOTHER BRIDGE TRAGEDY AVERTED [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND. January 29. A passer-by saved a middle-aged onelegged man from falling from the parapet of Grafton Bridge, shortly after 7 o’clock to-night. The man had reached the bridge centre, when he noticed a one-legged man with crutches falter and drop them. At the time the two men were abou 12yds apart, and there were not many people about. The one-legged man scrambled awkwardly to the top of the parapet, but his disability enabled him to be rescued when he was about to fall.
