WOULD-BE SUICIDE

THE GRAFTON BRIDGE AFFAIR [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, January 30. The crippled pensioner, Alfred Arthur Erickson (51), who was prevented by a pedestrian from falling from the parapet of Grafton Bridge last evening, pleaded guilty to-day to attempting to commit suicide. The police said Ericksen stated that he suffered from pains in the head, and for tho first time for over a year took liquor. He was remanded until February 5 to enable inquiries to be made.
